Well i'm pretty convinced I want the U for this shoe but I appreciate all the advice! It's a shame they don't do metal toe taps on the single sole, do you know if they do rubber ones?
Yes. I had two pairs made with single soles and they put rubber toe caps on them.

I´ve made up my mind. I´m going to buy my first Vass :)

Chukka boot
F-last
Dainite sole (maybe double leather with toe taps)
Dark brown grain

I want a casual boot that i can wear all year (not in the middle of the summer of course) and i think Dainite is better in sweden with rain, snow, ice, gravel on the pavement.

I have looked at all models at the web site and Vass have lots of models that is a bit to east europe style for me. I wouldn´t wear that boot if they gave me 450 euro

Thanks for the tip anyway.
I agree maybe its a swedish thing, I think we tend to gravitate a bit more towards sleek shoes. However I don't think vass does Dainite soles only vibram and they are more clunky.....

How do they hold up over time? and are they easily replaced if necessary?

I only just got them so don't know. But I don't mind shoes wearing out shoes naturally over time. That gives you an excuse to chuck em and get new ones.

Fiddler, since you've got Alden, AE, and Vass, how does your Barrie or AE 5 last compare to Vass lasts' shape and sizing?
I don't have any Alden or AE shoes....I had a pair of Alden suede loafers on the Van Last but they were so ugly after a few wears, I threw them away.
