If you prefer rounder lasts (which I personally find stodgy looking), then F last in your usual size.

If you prefer stylish Italian lasts, then U or K last in 0.5 size larger.

Go for the "E" which is the slimmer (narrower) body. "D" is the medium usual make.

My recommendation would be to try their new K-last in E fit with 0.5 size bigger.

For genuine MTO, you could probably have the right and left done in different sizes.

do you have to show up in budapest for the exact assessment?

Thank you !
Do you mean they do different width on the same last (D or E) ?
K is slimmer than U ?

Thanks

From what I know, none of these lasts.
F last has a mid-high instep, relatively small toe box.
I've heard U last has a high instep. I'd imagine K is the same, but i don't know.
New Peter (P2) has a low instep but a large toebox.

From the looks, I would try the R last - it looks like a low instep and a small toebox.

More photos of my Vass Budapest Last boots. Up for sale with the link in my signature due to sizing issues unfortunately. Can't wait to get them again in the correct size! All of you guys that fear the Budapest last need to re-think things. I'll be getting more for sure.

Yep. Antique Cognac calf. It is a bit softer than some of the other calf's I've had which is fine with me.

K looks just like U, disappointing.
F is the best.

Matter of opinion. F-last is a fugly round thingie in the front, suitable for uncles. Younger men prefer the more Italian look of U and K.

I thought it was time for me to contribute picture wise in this part of the forum as well, having been a lurker for quite some time
U vs K last

Thanks for this contribution, but your pictures are highly unclear. The lighting is all wrong, too dark to tell the difference.

The main difference between U and K is not the minute niggles mentioned earlier. It's in the slight uplift in the last. Just above the toe. This merits a much better photographer taking a picture from the front of the shoes kept side by side. With a lot better lighting for sure..

Thanks for your effort though. Not sure why Vass itself doesn't put this on their website! The K-last is a special thing for Isetan Japan right now, but Vass is already taking direct orders for people who know.

For people who love U-last, the K is a very interest build.

Yes, I have an old camera and I should have taken the photos outdoors or with some additional lighting.. but I thought that a picture at all is worth more than no picture but I will try to get my sister to take a better picture with a real camera so that we can have a proper comparison!

I have another K-lasted MTO in the pipeline and should be ready in feb/mar so I will make some effort then!
