After going through this thread, I've become tempted to to order a pair of Vass myself (62 Old English Plain).
From looking at the pictures it seems the soles and particularly the heels of the Vass shoes are noticable thicker than on e.g. C&J and Church's. I guess that is the house style? But is it possible to request thinner soles?

Does Vass offer trees in half sizes?

The trees in the shoes I received say 41.

As I ordered UK6.5 and there is no additional sizing information on the shoes I don't know whether they are 40.5 or 41.

If Vass is printing European sizes on their trees, that should tell you that this is the sizing convention they work with...so why give them a UK sizing and allow them the opportunity to convert wrongly. For me, UK6.5 is US7 is Eu size 40.

It's best you pick up the phone and talk to the guy tomorrow. It's a small inconvenience for your piece of mind.

Just awaiting delivery tomorrow of my first pair after taking the plunge on sizing :-( UK6.5 US7 EU40 Heres hoping with fingers crossed.........

For me, UK6.5 is US7 is Eu size 40.

Sizing is not as simple as that.
It has a lot to do with the characteristics of your feet, shape, length, volume of the forefoot, instep, heel.
For example I tried on three lasts of C&J and had a different size in every single one of them.
The shoe trees in the Vass I received say 41.
After having tried the shoes on, I am convinced half a size smaller would fit my feet best.
I will ask Mr. Kuti which size the pair I received has.

What a lovely christmas present!
Will your shoes have the exact same specifications?
Do you know your size in C&J 337 last?

Exactly as above, and I'm a 6.5UK in the 337 and based on info both from here and others I've gone 40 EU which is supposed to equate to UK 6.5. I suppose its a 50:50 it either will or wont !!! :)

I hope it does...but didn't you size up by a half, as most people do when they order the U-Last?

Hey guys I'm staying in Vienna for a few days at the current moment and I plan on visiting ABBA shoes in a couple days. I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with the store and can tell me how reasonable their prices are and how their selection is in terms of Vass (obviously). Thanks!
