I’m heading to Budapest soon with shoes on my mind.

For those that have been, how are my chances of getting a RTW pair of Vass shoes as a walk in?

It depends on the mood of the sales associate on the day of your visit. Also, you might want to coordinate before your trip so they know to be at the store.

Could anyone give me some advice for sizing and opinions on the Alt English in F and U Lasts? I understand the U should be narrower and maybe half a size up compared to the F. I really like the look of the U last in pictures, but have also heard some SF users not liking the shoe when they got it in real life. What does everyone think would be the better one to get for formal/semi-formal events?

I haven't owned a pair of dress shoes in years, but I wear size US 11 in most shoes. Not sure if it helps, but I'm EU 43 for Common Projects, EU 44 for YSL Wyatt Chelseas, US 10 for Meermin Chelseas.

I have pairs on the U last and wear them, but they are definitely better paired with sharp suits. I’d go for the F last if you want something more versatile.

Sizing on the U can be tricky because of the taper to the toebox. I’m a US 11.5 and a 45.5 (loafers) or 46 (lace ups) in the U last. 45 feels like a good place for you to start.

Thanks for the advice! I agree that the U may not be the most versatile so I'll likely go with the F for now and build up my collection from there. Would a EU 44 for the F last be a good bet then since it's not as narrow as the U?
