F has a cavernous instep (as most Italian lasts do, in my experience and this was designed by Uglioni), the wide version even more so. Make sure to specify you don’t want additional Width at the instep. It might help to send them a tape measure number at that point of your foot.

Btw are you ordering direct? Since when does an old English cost 1000$?

Sorry, you right. They're cheaper than $1000. So don't ask for a wider width if the lace gap is too wide?

I made a whirlwind tour of Budapest this weekend so I had to visit the big three, Vass, Buday and Rozsnyai. Unfortunately all three stores were closed. In my opinion Rozsnyai stole the show. There was a pair of stingray whole cuts in the window that I would have scooped up in a heartbeat.

For those who wear the same size for both the U and F lasts. How would your describe your feet in terms of width and instep?

Personally I have narrow feet and low instep.

What shoes were you wearing Jazz?
Nothing fancy just some walking sandals. We must have walked at least 10 kilometres that day. The main event of this trip is a family wedding and I will be wearing my Vass whole cuts. I'll be sure to post a photo. I'm disappointed that I came all that way and the stores were closed but I only had a day to spend in Budapest.

Bummer indeed, was it a banking holiday or something? Tell me the rehearsal dinner for the wedding is at Gundel:drool:

I wear a 43 in both F & U. My instep is pretty average, F is very generous in instep and U is a little bit less i would say, but very close. Toebox i find F is definitely wider than U. I could probably fit a 42.5 in F but have never tried, U i dont' think i could. My left foot is wider at the ball to toes compared to right, and F and U are fine

I was there on a Saturday and they closed at 4. Missed it by about half an hour. We did have an outstanding dinner at Kacsa Étterem. The wedding is in Slatina, Romania, sausages and cabbage rolls

They shared an Instagram story of almost 30 minutes yesterday where one of the shoemakers was sewing the outsoles of two different pairs of exotic hides(One blue and another in white). It was divided in 2 stories of 15 minutes each and it was very cool to watch. It's a shame they didn't save it to their highlights so people can see it when they want or can.

Basically it was a two pair process of carving the channel into the outsole, preparing the thread and wax it, put the boars wristles on them, sew the outsole, peg the heel area and sand it to finally glue and smooth the channel of the outsole. Very interesting to see how they actually do it.

I took some screenshots it anyone wants me to share them.

Sorry for the delay. I never thought you were able to wear walking sandals having such a large shoe dress collection. I can not even think what´s the total number of any kind of shoes you keep in your wardrobe. How was the feeling being in front of those B&M with the doors closed?. Do not tell me, I can figure it out... :(. Hope you had a really good time in Budapest!!. Cheers.

Budapest was outstanding, too bad I only had 1 day. I was more impressed with the Rozsnyai window. Yes it was disappointing but I had my wife with me so buying was completely out of the question lol. Meanwhile here are my Vass wholecuts directly from a Romanian wedding. This party is off the hook. outstanding gypsy musicians with non-stop food and booze. This party is going to go all night.
