Our own Meaculpa makes good. Article:

Thread Starter
We were privileged to have one of our own young up and coming bespoke artisans, Meaculpa (Dimitri Onistsuk), premier his fine handmade belts for the first time at the 2006 Collection of Sartorial Excellence.

If you haven't made a deal with Dimitri yet, I'm afraid your time has just about run out. Hot ... in demand ... and leaving us oldsters in the dust, Mr. Onistsuk is now movin' on.

Oh, well. We can say we knew him when.

Yeah...way to go, Dimitri! We really know how to produce talent in Canada, don't we...although I suppose Kabbaz is going to take all the credit now and suck up hoping for a free belt.

Like Stephen di Renza said: 'Clearly it's not a path chosen by many. It's a niche. It's niche, eh?'

Congratulations, Dimitri. Hope you can find some time to put together a "how a good belt is made" for us... I would settle for some good pics of the stuff you're putting together, though.

2 thumbs up. Nothing beats free publicity. I envision in the near future we all can buy your products at BG and Barneys.

Well, I suppose I can always trust Alex to embarrass me on *both* of the fora I frequent. Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

j, actually, yeah, I'm working on article about the trade. I unfortunately had to run into a few (hundred) dead-ends in the past year and a half or so since there's no such thing on the market as a book titled "How to Make the World's Best Belts," so this would be a great thing to share. I now understand why many artisans and firms name each of their products individually...

And did someone say something about "belt porn?"

Embroidered travel bags.

"Peritheus"

"Moebius"

"Perfection's always just one more stitch away..."

Interesting bespoke order for a customer.

A cornucopia of earth tones.
