Looking at bluefly again.

Looks like they make predominantly cashmere clothes. The cited retail prices are up there (850), anyone know how this brand compares to others in the same price range (Loro Piana)? I can't say I've ever seen Malo in any stores so that's why I ask. Thanks.

Malo is definitely super-luxe and up there with Loro Piana, and is my favorite line of cashmere. I'd say the quality of LP is probably a little better, but Malo is much more modern and offers more variety in terms of design. I find LP to be a little too conservative and old-fashioned. Price-wise, Malo is very expensive and the retail prices you quoted sound about right. Anyway, Malo has been around for a while--at least 50 yrs. or so--and uses all Mongolian cashmere. They have a boutiques in most of the major shopping areas--including 2 here in New York. They've recently tried to branch out into leathers and non-cashmere apparel.

Good stuff. Cuts and such are a bit more severe than Loro Piana. Materials-wise, they're nearly equal. That said, as long as Loro Piana doesn't compromise their quality to increase margins, I don't see myself buying a sweater from anyone else anytime in the near future. Never seen a Malo for US$800, though. US$500-650 is more what I remember. Peace, JG

Dunno. just quoting the price off bluefly website Oh last question. Can anyone comment on the cut? Is it a full cut or does it fit fairly close to the body? I'm pretty skinny (38 jacket, 31 pants, 14.5 neck, 5'11") and any wondering if I need a small or medium. Joe G, what do you mean when you say the cuts are severe? Anyway I wanna buy one of the the sweaters so if anyone who knows the brand could give me sizing advice it would be appreciated.

I'm the same size as you. Malo cuts it clothes pretty true to correct sizes and it's not a generous cut like Loro Piana can be. If I were you, I'd probably get a small size.
