My Bloody Valentine

Haven't listened to them in years, though I will always adore them. Combination of meeting a new priest at my church who is also a MBV fan and a rainy day at the office, made me pull out the three LPs. What a bloody brilliant band! Fantastic studio sound (only negative is when I saw them play live in '92 they kinda sucked).

Weren't they working on a new album?
I missed them when they came through town - the day of the concert I came down with some kind of godawful stomach bug.

Missed them last year, on my birthday, in Chicago for other stupid reasons. I refuse to try to see them again, God doesn't want me to.

Whatever church has a priest who is into MBV is my kind of church! I hope they do a bigger tour once they finish the new album. I didn't see them at any of their festival dates.

Hah! Yeh, that's what I thought too.

We got started talking music when he mentioned Dead Can Dance and I started listing some of my favorite 4AD bands from back in the day. He hasn't heard Pale Saints so I described them as sort of MBV derivative.

Yeah, for about the past 18 years or so.

Kevin Shields has made some recordings with Mogwai and Primal Scream, and did a track for Lost in Translation, but other than that he has been sucking dole money for a long time.

Love this band. I'm actually selling Ecstacy and Wine on Ebay right now. Will probably add the You Made Me Realise EP when I find it.

Was never that in to Cocteau Twins or Kitchens, but I loved Slowdive, Felt, and Galaxie 500. Also those later, semi-gaze (sounds like a paint finish) bands. Pram, DI, and Bark Psychosis. Long Fin Killie too, but only that surfer ep.

What is a good next step if I really like Loveless, as well as the Lost in Translation track?
The Lost in Translation track is on Loveless isn't it? Listen to "Isn't Anything" and then get the album "Souvlaki" by Slowdive
