The White Contrast Collar/Cuff Dress Shirt? (pics) - Page 2

My next shirt is going to be one. Getting it tailored by the Baron with these collar/cuff and body fabrics. I'm also going with a medium spread collar and rounded double cuffs.

Oh, come on now. He's got...he's...he didn't...oh, I've got nothin'.

I think they don't work on him for the very same reason they didn't work on Larry Minetti ("Rick") on Magnum, PI: they were worn as casual shirts, not as business shirts with ties and coats. As a casual shirt, it just looks a bit odd to me...maybe I'm just not used to it. As a business shirt, though, it's very nice, particularly with shades of blue.

Teacher,

Where did you get that Avatar? Is that Will Ferrell?

most of my shirts are like this. I like the style. I feel a little self consious in the US wearing them, in truth a large part because of the negative feedback I have gotten from people on the board.

I used to sport the contrast collar and cuffs look, with lots of hair gel. Now I wish I hadn't. Although the shirts often look nice in the abstract, the look itself seems contrived to me (and I've given up the gel). I probably watched Wall Street one too many times.

Gather 'round, people, gather 'round, and I shall tell ye a story of Sid and Marty Krofft. This is Glitter Man (or Glitter Rock or something), a villain from "Electra Woman and Dyna Girl." This, itself, was a segment from The Krofft Super Hour or something like that. I used to watch it when I was a kid. When I came across a picture of this, I flipped and decided to use it...thought it was very stylish. The show, I'm sure, was pure crap, but I loved it! (I was four, I think.)

I'm quite fond of the Keaton style shirt from RLPL. Such as the one at this link, http://www.polo.com/category/index.j...523&cp=1795706.

Or this,

Or this (ignore the person it's on),

I think you can avoid the Gord Gekko uber 80's power look by using brighter, more vibrant colours and staying away from ones like french blue (which one should do anyways).

I can't stand them

Contrast collars (if not detachable) need to be at least spread, and better cutaway to avoid the Lumberg look.
