my boo shirt has bad buttons is this widespread or did i get screwed?!/1?!

And here I am, dying to get may hands on a BoO shirt.... Should I really not bother anymore?

Yes, the buttons are a problem. I keep an eye on them, and get out the needle and thread if one is coming loose. I have never actually lost one. But I have never had a problem with fading. My band shirts look like new. I am careful when I wash them (handwash cycle on the washing machine, hang dry). I own 6 band shirts currently in various fabrics and at one point owned 10, so I feel like I would have noticed if it were a widespread problem. You may be using something (bug spray, sunscreen, etc) that may be causing it. Do you have this problem with non-band shirts?

Buy a band shirt if you find one you like. They are among my favorite shirts. Keep an eye on the buttons. They are not the only shirt makers with this issue.

The early early band shirts I had never had a problem with buttons I think it started happening into the 2nd year or so. Never seen any fading the cloth is nice.

Oh ya and lock thread.

In before the lock: hand washing is your friend. And there are very few SF brands that secure buttons exremely well; Agnes B is one of them.

I've had a few pop buttons just recently, luckily none were lost. I've decided it might be a good idea to re-enforce all the button threads myself, to be on the safe side.

Oh, and no fading problems here either. I don't know if it would make a difference, but was it an overdyed shirt? Either way, wash with care is always good advice.

Not sure what you mean by "SF brands" but the only shirts I have had with anything fall off have been Borrellis. (I have lost buttons and, um, sleeves, from them.) Every other shirtmaker seems to do just fine.

I have never owned a BOO shirt, though. I have seen them in the stores, chuckled to myself at the quality on offer, and gasped at the prices.

Any problems with construction? Or is it just the buttons not being cross stitched?
