Hey,

i'll have 3 free weeks in december. So, im planing a trip somewhere in the world. Currently I dont know where to go. Im not the guy who likes to relax at the beach allday. I would rather prefer a city or nature. Thought about New York, because i wasnt outside of the EU yet and I have the Euro on my side. My budget is about 2000$. Buying clothes is subsidiary. Any recommendations? thx in advance.

Is that $2000 total including airfare (because airfare would eat a large portion of that)?

You can do a lot in South America for $2000.

How about a long trek through the Himalayas? Groups form to do this, and you'd likely fall in with some good people.

no, without airfare. i looked up some prices, dont want to pay more than 600$ on a flight thats about 420 - 440 €. North America, especiallay USA would be the cheapest. I could get there for about 500$ east or west coast. I also checked out Japan/Australia/India and some other asian places. USA/Canada would be the cheapest for my budget.

If you're in the mid atlantic or southeast, you can get to Colombia for about $400 through Spirit Airlines

I think you should walk across America.

Rent a convertible and drive coast to coast.

Latin America. Peru and Bolivia are both great. I've heard amazing things about Argentina.

A little pricier than other S. American countries, but Brazil is great. See the big cities - Sao Paolo, Rio, and Salvador. Then head out and see rural Bahia.

tanks a lot for your suggestions. I'll save my money until May next year then rent a convertible and drive from east to west. I think four weeks will be enough for the first time usa.

I would say check out North Africa/Middle East, can find some really cheap flights into Cairo from mainland Europe and it has the greater effect of being crazy cheap once you get domestic for the most part. Maybe check out Jordan and Petra while in the area or shoot over to Morocco. If you aren't up for going into that area alone, check out companys like Gap Adventures and Kumuka, they run tours through the area including a couple that run from Turkey straight down to Egypt that may fit into your timeframe. Most of Canada and the Northern States will be cold at that point and you really wont want to spend much time outside. So unless you dig museums a lot, I would suggest staying South or someplace like Cali. South America on the other hand will be crazy hot at that point, December down there is pretty much like August in the Northern Hemisphere. So personally I would say check out North Africa/Middle east area or maybe jet over to Asia.
