Inglourious Basterds - Page 10

The Jew Hunter stole the show. It was his movie. That guy was fantastic. He was so creepy and charming at the same time. I really liked the inclusion of David Bowie's Cat People.

Can someone explain to me the scene where the brit ordered drinks and accidentally gave away his identity?

The way he showed the number 3 with his fingers was British and not German.

How would a German do it?
Didn't they explain it in the movie?

I think the germans doesn't include their thumb when showing 3, or if it was the other way around. /C

German 3 = Thumb, index, middle english 3 = index, middle, ring.

Only shows how much zee germans like their beer: every bartender prefers to see the German way because there is no doubt on how many beers a person wants. With the English way, the half-mast ring-finger may be mistaken for the want of an extra beer.

I liked the movie, by the way.

What a goddamned stupid show. I want my money back.

The Col was the only thing that made the movie worth watching. Evil, charming and kinda creepy. The elite American squad just seemed like a bunch of doofs.

I dont think it makes them look good, but the ending and the way things happen eventually mmake it a pro-jewish point of view movie, not in the way it depicts things but i think its a movie where a pro-jewish (whatever that means) person would feel good watching it. When i watched it in lebanon people were clapping when Hitler got shot and in the end when the colonel gets marked (which ruined the movie for me as i think a fitting ending would be the colonel weasling his way out unharmed), anyway those people probably arent involved in politics and/or anti-hezballah and stuff i guess but if neutrals felt that good about it i guess pro-israelis would like it as well. But its just a movie, i think itd be stupid to overanalyse its political significance. PS: i realise the term jewish is used loosely here.
