Hi guys,

I'm having some troubling with stains on my shirts and I was wondering if anyone here has tried spray deodorant/antiperspirant. Some people swear by it and some hate it, so what do you guys think?

If you do roll-on deodorant, apply..then take a piece of paper towel and wipe off excess off the armpits. I also shave my pits. Pit hair absorbs sweat and adds to stink, so get rid of it. Women got that one right. Wear an undershirt.

I use Jack Black Pit Boss - no problems!

Although not hairy under my armpits, I trimmed it way down for less odor causing bacteria growth (though shaving's probably even better I would imagine) and switched to a natural mineral salt solid roll-on to avoid aluminum uptake through the pit sweat glands. I'll still sweat but no odor. In a situation where you don't want wetness or odor I have used unscented "Sure" solid roll-on in the past with great results.

Avoid products with aluminum. (ie, most anti-perspirants)

I used Tom's of Maine unscented. Natural and does not have aluminum.

so BO comes from your sweat mixing with the bacteria and germs living in your arm pits. deodorant and antiperspirant cover up the BO and prevent you from sweatin perspectively, but they don't really do anything to get rid of the root of the problem - the bacteria that's there in the first place.

so for less odor, once or twice a week, after a shower (freshly washed pits), i will swab rubbing alcohol on the area to kill any lingering bacteria.

i don't shave my pits because i naturally don't have a lot of pit hair, but if you do i wouldn't swab it with alcohol right after a shave (ouch).

maybe my theory is cuckoo, maybe it's not - but i feel like it makes my deodorant/antiperspirant more effective, and i can go a lot longer BO free than the average person.

I like this Tom's product:

Antiperspirants are bad news. They clog your sweat glands with aluminum. Allow your body to perspire. Just wear T-shirts.
