Last night completed a final and decided to celebrate with the girlfriend and a bottle of 2006 old vine shiraz from the Barossa Valley. What a delicious wine. Can anyone recommend some other Barossa Shiraz to look into?

I'm a fran of VndM. Great alternative to a full on Brunello but often a bit more guts than a Chianti. The riservas are usually packing a healthy backbone of tannins. Do report back when consumed.

Be patient. It's only five years old.

this increases Italy's represenation in your cellar by about 20%, I will take the victories where I can get them.

the added shipping would diminish the excellent value that it currently is.

but a $27 Barolo with 92 from the big 2 (including Galloni who is certainly one of the tougher critics) is awesome. I highly recommend giving this a shot.

Buy 3 get shipping free!!! I would buy but there really is no point for me to buy Italian wines.

Speaking of cinderella...I'm heartbroken because a couple of months ago I bought a Barossa old vine shiraz from them for $9/bottle (!!!) which I facking loved. I drank them all and gifted one to my GFs mother for her birthday. Now I can't find the wine anywhere at a decent price. I knew I should have bought a case....

victory #2 for gomestar today! Congratulations on effectively doubling the Italian wine count in your cellar (and congrats for the net cellar increase of 0.006%).

And KWilk, rock the single bottle for $35. We can have a Forvm communal wine tasting.
