German tasting was pretty good. 11 wines this time for $15.

2 champs blanc de noir
1 Pinot
8 Riesling (variety of regions and RS levels)

I think I prefer off dry and fruitier rather than the some of the lean acid monsters that are all minerality

Went camping in the North Fork and decided to check out a couple vineyards, which turned out to be a good portion of our trip.

Went to Baiting Hollow (ew), Macari (meh) Leib Cellers, Sparking Pointe, One Woman, Matabella and McCall.(Leib One Woman, Matabella and McCall were by far the highlights). Picked up a bunch of whites to supplement the reds we got out in Sonoma (Gruners, Pinot Blanc, Sauv Blanc). I actually liked the wine out there much more than i liked it in CA--more old world style, more cooler climates, less fruit bomb-y. And since it's close to the city, we'll probably do it again in the fall when it cools out.

Camping in this heat is not recommended though.

^ Funny because there's a North Fork in California as well - and you can go camping in that general area (it's near yosemite)

Tintero barbaresco from full pull sounds good- imported by KL, CT rated well, only $19?

Did you grab any of the Beaux Freres when it was up? I bought a few. Last Full Pull was four of the Saviah Cellars "The Jack" Cab. Sauv for me.

Yeah - I got one of 'The Jack' to try before I ordered more, haven't had that label before

If something is around $15 a bottle I usually grab four these days if I've not tried it. I'm trusting the curation at Full Pull fairly strongly these days. I've had something not too long ago from Saviah and remember liking it too.

Their allocation just opened. If you can grab a couple bottles of The Hedges. All the wine is good but we really enjoy that bottling.

FWIW, Saxum does a bottling of their Syrah and think it has scored as high as 98 points.

Just saw the mailer. #34 on the WS list last year? That has to be a good sign?
Yeah, and it's not much of a risk with that price
