Had the following tonight w/ Beef Wellington, carrot and parsnip puree & roasted brussel sprouts w/ pancetta.

Pardon the poor picture. The wine was delicious. Loads of cherry and blackberry with a touch of smoke, spice and graphite. Great balance of acidity and tannins, though the wine would definitely have benefited from another 3-5 years. 80% granache, 10% syrah, 10% mourvedre.

Ordered a bottle of Drouhin Chassagne Montrachet Blanc '12 (25 € icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif) and Cocchi Barolo Chinato (20 € icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif). Very excited. smile.gif
Edit: Prices too good. Had to stock up a bit more.
Vina Tondonia Gran Reserva 1991 (33 €)
Some Bandol rosé for next summer: 2014 Rosé Château de Pibarnon & 2014 Rosé Coeur de Grain Ch. Romassan Domaines Ott (27 € for both)
2010 Napanook Zweitwein Dominus (30 €)

I think it was RedC that told us here about www.fullpullwines.com I've accumulated over five cases in random buying since joining in August and hope to get them shipped this week. I would encourage folks that like WA wines in particular to give it a look-see.

so its like a overflow/overstock for small wineries?

I think it's a mashup of things but the main thrust seems to be they get allocations and then push them out to the membership. Seems they might also buy lots having problems coming to distribution channels (I remember one where the wine maker/owner had actually died and they bought up the stock from the family) and I think they might be making some cuvees from select barrel purchasing. I know I have some known stuff waiting for me, such as a Cayuse bottling, and am looking forward to the delivery.

Not exactly. Pretty much what piob said - they generally buy parcels that distributors, wineries, or importers are looking to move. La Rata is a project from Cayuse that Full pull is the sole retailer of, I believe. Their sources are pretty varied, but they focus on Washington wine, with a little Oregon, a little european, and very seldomly CA wine.

They do also have their own series of wines but thats a very small part of what they do and I think is mostly a labor of love.
