Was good stuff. Of course, big alcohol. But great acidity, medium tannins, and good fruit without being jammy. Just what I was hoping for. Only sad thing is, had two bottles and we drank them both. Guests thought it was good grape juice which makes me happy.

It shouldn't. You should feel bad for me. I went from not drinking at all to being a full-blown alcoholic in about 2 1/2 yrs.

This might become my new hobby for 2011.

first cigars, now beer & wine.

had this the other night some cured meats and cheese. I am way too noobish to even post what I think I tasted other than it had a peppery/spicy finish to it. Whatever it was made it very enjoyable and definitely has piqued my interest going forward.

LOL, don't curse yourself like that! My game is worse now than it was a few months ago. Too "inside my head" and really had a horrible round last week. Literally cracked the top of my driver open, coming up underneath the ball

I should take a pic of it for the lulz.

I had this a couple of months ago and I really liked it. My wife and I had dinner at the Frescobaldi restaurant in Florence, along with several other wines in their portfolio. Not a bad one in the bunch.

Christmas wines were:
2008 Orion - not a style of wine I generally like, but my wife likes it and it's very good for what it is.
1978 Mt Eden Cab, from magnum - not only still alive, but a beautiful wine. Still deep purple in color, firm acids, and developing nicely. I was surprised this was as alive as it was, and in fact this bottle probably could have used a few more years in the cellar.
2001 Dalla Valle Napa - meh
1985 Krug - one of my favorite bubblies ever. Unfortunately, not much left (in my cellar anyway).
