not sure which.

you did vow this in '10 - your friends in NYC are happy to help you widdle down the cellar, ship to either Manton or I and we will poast tasting notes from my office.

I will vow to continue to drink more wine. And to replace all of the glasses I've broken

let me tell you something about Haut Brion, both of those bottles are fake as they do not have the accurate window sconces displayed in the picture of the Chateau and I know this because I drink so much of it and I have the free time and ability to pick up on the nuances like this.

I've developed a rather unhealthy obsession for the Frenchies this year. I've always enjoyed a CdP, but have been trying to learn more and try more. Also switching more of my PN drinking from Cals to Burgs as I get some recommendations for good ones. I should go through my CT and figure out what % of my purchases this year have been Freedom wines. A lot, I think. I know that my total collection used to be pretty Cal-heavy and now I have about as much from Freedom as from California.

as far as I'm concerned, your collection begins and ends with the bottle that got away from me.

Surely a man of your power and influence, and the family cellar to boot, could find any bottle he chooses.

power and influence is

, but I can source pretty much anything (and below market price to boot), but finding isn't necessarily the issue - it's the ridiculous price that it was offered at and the speed at which it disappeared. I'm too competitive, **** like that stays with me.

And I did drink more Frenchies that prior years. Plan to increase that again this year.

As to your offer, well look here chap, let me quickly explain this. When one has a cellar, the likes of which my forefathers have built, one does not ship these precious bottles to all ends of the Earth for mere ease of space. One has his servants excavate a new wing to the cellar.

Being a wine noice and nouveau riche I can understand why you might not understand this.

See here now, young man, is this video footage of why your pallet is so obviously deficient?

Oh, might be getting a bottle of Volnay from the somm up at the casita. He called to say he'd found a cache not inventoried, and if he has any left when I visit next week, I need to take one home.

A $600 bottle of 2000 Quinto do Noval Nacional that I was mischarged for and picked up for $85 doesn't do anything for you? (It was sitting on the wrong spot on the shelf and neither the clerk nor I knew any better).

Just for giggles and I went back and checked my wine purchases for the last 6 months. 67% were Freedom wines, 25% were US, 4% were Eye-ties and 4% were everything else (Argentina & Germany, in this case).

No, since I've had some '75 Quinto do Noval for free and while brilliant, great Burgs are what get me (same for the 3 eye-tie B's). And the Quinta was a lucky break, not something the masses could partake in.

I'm struggling with the eye-tie B's. I've yet to have one that really blew my hair back. Bought quite a few on that WTSO/Cindy binge I was on a while back. So far, just 'meh'.

Here are the one's I've had this year:
9/30/2010 2001 Fontanafredda Barolo Serralunga d'Alba (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo)
7/11/2010 2003 Roagna Barolo La Rocca e La Pira (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo)
3/28/2010 2001 Solaria Brunello di Montalcino 123 (Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino)
2/27/2010 2001 Fontanafredda Barolo Serralunga d'Alba (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo)

Between the fact that everytime I see my parents lately it's a "special occasion" and the fact that my relationship mainly revolves around great food, great wine, and great sex, my collection is very quickly being whittled down to nothing. All I've left is a bottle of Chablis, a 375 of Chartogne Taillet, the aforementioned Gigondas that can't be touched for 40 years, and a bottle of 05 Kracher TBA.
