Fwiw, the domaine de fontsainte corbieres imported by Kermit Lynch is truly great for like $12. Also in the $20 range Domaine des 2 Anes makes some great ones.

Problem is shipping. Its like $50 a case, 1/2 the price of the wine itself. AFAIK they dont have local retailers.

They have northeastern distribution. Call the rep for that area. See if they can get a store near you to bring it in.

A quick scan of several tracking sites suggest ~2014-2024.

PSA:

Cool, found a local source for the Domaine de Fontsainte Corbieres to drop ship at, turns out my cousin used to deal with this guy. He offered us a pretty sick deal if I do 8 or more cases... $9/bottle. Its $13 a bottle normally.

Anyone want in (local Washington DC area)? I'm getting 2, so is my cousin. Need 4 more cases to get the price, some friends may jump in too.

If someone wants some send me a PM. Putting the order in tomorrow so I get it before the holidays.

We had two earlier this year at a dinner party. Very good wine that needed more time. A little like the '05 RWT, Pio, that we discussed way back at the beginning of the thread. Really good structure but potential to be wonderful.

Great wine for $6.95, Valreas Cotes Du Rhone Villages, Les Vignerons de Enclave.

Mostly grenache, 2011

Trader Joes, ya you hear that. Dont lol8[1].gif

One of those wines that is much better on the 2nd day. Spice emerges. Sorta (too) fruity on open, rather odd, usually the opposite. Bit fruity on the 2nd day, frankly. Still, that price? On my second case.

(ha ha, maybe eating words on french value wines)

& Otima 10

Neither did disappoint. Antinori solid as always. Maybe a tad oaky this time, but after 2-3 hours it was fine. Will always buy again for 9,99€.

Anyone had bad experiences with Domaine du Grand Tinel C-d-P? Can get the '09 for 17€ and it gets decent reviews on CT

Picked up my cases. Opened a bottle to sample. Wine is tight. Needs a few weeks to rest (not to mention some bottle age) but after an hour it tasted like I remember it.

Cant be beat for the $

Audio - the LCBO should have some '09 Nuits from Daniel Rion in your price range. Good negoce/producer.
