Piob, how've you been?

This week no wine for me. Just liquor.

Really want to try some US-wine but it's hard to get (at least anything other than Gallo ) and quite expensive. Maybe for Christmas.

Ya bro, since the election we have not seen much of you. I know its just a simple and unquestionable coincidence but still...

Was drinking very well.

How'd it turn out? If I could bring wine across the border in large quantities I'd probably go down and grab a lot more. $42 is just fine for a once-a-month bottle, though.

Try finding the Clovis Point Merlot. the 2005 is still available and I think it is great at $15. I have gotten several cases.

Good timing, I just drank it yesterday during belated Thanksgiving with my family. In full disclosure I have never tasted a mature bordaux before, but I really, really enjoyed it. It was interesting to see the color difference between a mature wine and a "new" wine. Seemed to have good acidity, fairly mild tannins at this point. Medium body. Somone, who is not a wine drinker, remarked that "it has so many different flavors!", which is always a good thing. I did not decant it and was away when someone polished off the bottle so I didn't get to see if there was any sediment or not.

I don't think he meant it like that.

there are few things worse in life than "time to enjoy the last big sip of this awesomely aged wine" only to get a mouthful of sediment.

'Twas a joke on my part about iPhones. Apparently, a pretty weak one.

If you can't see that there is sediment in the glass ahead of time though then the wine has a problem.

I have been seeing a lot of producers releasing their 2010 vintages from France. Can somebody comment on how 2010 is compared to the excellent 2009 vintages?

Sipping this tonight, can say its excellent.
