Anyone have experience with Waters wines? Had the rose yesterday and it was spectacular. Also the Seven Hills Viognier was wonderful.

Drank a few things over the weekend:

2009 Kermit Lynch CdR, solid as always.

2010 Kermit Lynch Monferrato - must have some Ruche in it as it smelled like roses. Nice wine, light on it's feet, but not something I'd buy again.

1997 Ridge Geyserville - fully mature, still identifiable as primarily zinfandel, but edging toward claret territory. Really easy to drink.

2010 Ramey Sonoma Coast chardonnay - nice wine, needs a little time to settle down, still a bit shrill at this point. I like the Ramey chards, they're a nice departure from the standard CA butter bomb. This wine has nice cut, but rounds out a little with air. Will be better in a few years.

I had a really half-assed Brunello last night. 2000. $50. Astringent. Icky.

2005 Joseph Drouhin Gevrey-Chambertin. Lots of cherries and strawberries with a nose of what I consider very Burgundian.

yes. Next time will be at the request of someone else.

If you like Burgs and KB, I'd say you have a very broad palate.

Even though that 09 Sonoma was a WS WOTY I think the RRV and SVDs are superior. FWIW, I had dinner with a major Francophile over Xmas last year, and we had an SVD Kosta. He might have been being kind to me but he said he enjoyed the Kosta I pulled off the wine list.

Also, after the Burg, I needed a Left Coast:

Yup. I got nine allocated and horse traded them for far, far better and more wines. I traded my friend at the nearby resort four bottles of the N.V. Pierre Peters for one bottle of that.
