Wanted to have a Hardys Crest '11 Cabernet/Shiraz/Merlot. It tasted weird. At first I thought of vanilla ice cream. It's probably some spice in a very extreme form though. Unenjoyable for me, drank half a glass. Will probably cook with it, or dump it.

The Laroque was perfect after about 1.5-2 hours of decant time. This is at it's absolute peak. I wish I had a few more bottles of this. It's not a transcendent bdx but it's very very good and for $20 a bottle it's a complete steal. I'd rather drink a lesser wine from an amazing vintage than a great wine from a mediocre vintage. Had a few mid 90s mouton this week and they were far from amazing.

The doisy verdrines was drinking great right now and that Rioja is singing. All in all a great wine night.

Another bottle of Chapoutier - Bila Haut '11. That juice is really really good for the sub-10€ region and for being so young. And incredible for the 4,50€ I've paid. I'm with Parker on that one.

Admit it, you placed that bottle of Cynar on purpose. Poor Hunts. laugh.gif
