Been a while since I have had some wine so I went out and got a Bordeaux.

Two wines from the past week. I drank a lot more but apparently didn't take pictures.

This was ok. I thought it lacked a little character:

this was pretty good. The front was very nice and very pleasant, my only complaint was that the back end was very hollow and empty. No structure either. Still for $19 I enjoyed and would buy again for a lazy night at home:

2005 is not crazy early for a cru bourgeoise but it is definitely too early for Chasse Spleen.

Matt says in Cahors they make wine meant for the sink.

interesting. I didn't pour it down the sink, rather drank a bit of it just to deal with the company. It wasn't bad like an awful cheap wine, there just wasn't much there that interested me. I didn't pay much for it, but I still wouldn't buy it again nor recommend it.

I had that same Cahors last year (don't remember the vintage). My assessment was exactly the same as this.

Had an 07 Turley last night, can't remember which vineyard for sure, think El Salvador, or something similar. It was typical Turley, i.e. nicely structured, tons of fruit and ETOH, and went down rather well.

no, it was decent. Not necessarily good, but not offensive like a "Vendange California Chardonnay"

The Chasse-Spleen could have been kept a little longer but it was still pretty damn good now.
