Missing

I've been going through some Jack Lemmon films and watched Missing tonight. What a moving performance from Lemmon (Sissy Spacek too). The movie is based on the true story of journalist Charles Horman, who was executed by Pinochet's regime during the 1973 revolution. The U.S. was apparently complicit in Horman's death. Lemmon plays his father. Has anyone else seen it?

The guy was a hell of an actor. Equally great in comedic and dramatic roles.

I like Jack Lemmon in "The Out of Towners" and "The Great Race".

I saw this Costa-Garva(sp?) film 20+ years ago and still recall his performance. A nice change from his more manic Felix Unger-like characters.

The '80s were an incredibly polarizing time (sort of like now?) in terms of RR's Central & Latin American policies, which were responsible for politicizing a new generation of Ds (and R's, I suppose). I think it was based on the book The Execution of Charles Horman ....

I picked this up at my local library but put it back down. I guess I need to check it out. Lemmon can do no wrong.
