What do wear with "natural" linen suit for wedding? - Page 2

When the Temptations all wore exactly the same outfit on stage, it made sense for the occasion and looked good.

This is a different occasion.

Dump the tie, wear a pinkgham shirt. Extra points if its apricot. If you're on the beach, no shoes. Seriously, who wears shoes on the beach? No matching of the groom's men unless you're all in a band and then make sure that you buy the suits before the wedding so you can take a tax write off on the "costumes".

(FYI, I got married in white tie in a church, dress is a "horses for courses issue")

We'll the wedding is approaching and we finally made some decisions... All are wearing the suit shown in the original post with white shirts and light to mid brown shoes of their choosing. At the suggestion of the the gents at http://www.haroldsintheheights.com/ and agreement of the bride we're all wearing very different but complimentary pink ties (primarily due to the color of the bridesmaid's dresses which is an odd green-blue which the gents at Harold's said was one of the most difficult "shades" that have attempted to compliment in recent years). A couple more questions... Pants: Cuffs or no cuffs? I think most will wind up wearing casual shoes e.g. boat shoes. Can I pull off braces with this look or should I be safe and go with a belt? Thanks again for the suggestions.

I think Navy linen suit. Gray tie and a white french cuffed shirt.

Black shoes.

The groomsmen could wear tan linen with a navy tie and white shirt.

Sounds like another bride-to-be has made another poor sartorial decision. Rob

COMPLEMENT!!! Sorry, pet peeve. I would go for different colored ties, not different shades of pink. Uncuffed pants. Braces are fine.

Cuffs are almost always a good idea. This is even more true for light fabrics like linen, which benefit from some extra weight at the bottom of the leg.

Braces make trousers hang better, and are more comfortable. As long as the jacket is on, no one will even know.

Yeah, but cuffs with boat shoes? Upon further reflection, you may be right on this.

I have been known, when feeling warm and casual, to wear bright blue canvas slip-ons with a seersucker suit, cuffed trousers and all. Comments tend to be less on the subject of the cuffs and more on the subject of "Those are some blue shoes."

Any thoughts on a pocket square with the previously mentioned suit, shirt and tie?

Try white.

first congrats on your approaching wedding. I wouldn't bother with the pocket square to be honest. Not too sure about the pink ties as well(I know it's already been decided) I would have gone with pink carnations in the lapel hole instead.

Again congrats and buona fortuna to you both!
