Problem Sleeping after workout?

Sometimes it helps me sleep, but there are times I'm just too pumped to sleep within 4-5 hours.. Has anyone else experienced a problem sleeping after working out? Anything you recommend taking?

this is pretty common.
you could try taking melatonin, or better yet, working out earlier

Yeah, after a really really intense evening workout I would sometimes have trouble falling asleep + night sweats..

Same trouble here: I am a night person, with my energy level peaking @ around 11am-12pm or 8-9 pm. That's the best time for me to workout. The earlier time not being an option, I do the routine at nite. Unfortunately, it also messes up my sleep big time.

I don't have this problem, fortunately. I usually work out in the early evening, and sleep by 10pm. I think I actually sleep better the nights I've had an intense workout.

Indeed.

Best suggestion if it is possible. Also, avoid any stimulants when working out. I know a lot of people take supplements to "help them get a better pump".

Avoid any caffeine around bedtime as well.

Yeah. My schedule only lets me train around 11PM-1AM, and I've found that melatonin helps me get to sleep faster. I also usually feel more rested in the morning.

I think you're onto something.

if working out gives you a boost of energy...work out in the morning?

I am the same way. I have to have about 2-3 hours of cool down time before my body starts to calm down. So now I go in the mornings so I can get a good rest at night.

I hope I'm not bringing up something that's already been mentioned 100 times, but I keep seeing ads for for a product called Stemulite, which talks about increasing your REM sleep in addition to all the obvious effects it's supposed to provide through weight lifting. I've seen it on AOL's main page, Yahoo, Men's Fitness, etc... Can anyone tell me if this is worth all the hype it's received?
