I guess most people finish what they buy before buying more but I like to accumulate.

FYI: a pils is not what you're looking for. It isn't bad it just isn't what you are looking for. Ditto for Storm King (actually I'd give that a shot but later, it is a very complex beer).

I wouldn't recommend a pils either. Neither a saison or standard ale. Not with a stogie. If you're looking into Avery, check out The Beast. One bottle is $10 and it'll put you on your ass faster than a kick to the nuts.

Blue Moon.

Red Stripe.

We have a local one here in San Diego by Karl Strauss called Red Trolley. <stuff is amazing!

To stand up to any cigar, you need a big, full flavored beer, so pils and pale ales are out. Try any big Imperial Stout or Barleywine. Goose Island Bourbon County Stout and North Coast Old Rasputin would both be fine choices. If you can get Brooklyn beers near you, the Black Chocolate Stout and Monster Ale would both be great. Also, any of the big Founders or Bell's beers would be good too.

Second the Brooklyn brewery Monster Ale and Black Chocolate Stout recommendations. The Monster Ale is similar to DFH 90 minute IPA in flavor profile (large amount of hops balanced by barley wine sweetness). Both of these come in six-packs. If you ever find Brooklyn Black Ops (750ml bottles only) or Brooklyn Blunderbuss (on tap only, IMO) be sure to try them. Stone brewery Double Bastard is a more complex version of their regular Arrogant Bastard ale and is well worth trying. I only seen them in 750ml bottles or even magnums which Stone sometime releases. I like to get my Double Bastard in 12 pack of 750's. Other interesting beers from Dog Fish Head you should try if you see them are the 120min. IPA, the World Wide Stout, Paolo Santo Marron and Burton Baton. The first two are usually sold by single 12oz. bottles while the other two usually come in 4 packs.

PA has some weird laws that don't allow distributors to sell anything other than cases. Even when buying a 12 pack you need to buy 2. Some places that sell food have 6 packs and singles but I havent been able to find to many places that sell micro's or craft beer.

I've tried brooklyn choc stout but it was to chocolatey IMO. I tried SN torpedo extra IPA and liked it quite a bit. Still stuck on DFH 90 ipa and indian brown ale which is awesome. Looking to try some of the other recs in this thread over the next few weeks.

Dont care for blue moon or red stripe as they taste like carbonated piss. sorry.
