Nice! Went out and bought a pair soon after I posted that lol. The wool ones seem to rub my heels a bit more than the Sprints but they probably just need to be broken in a little bit.

You'll be surprised the amount of guys I've picked up at the gym with these shoes. Btw... I'm a dude. Girls on the other hand... that's another story.

i've been into minimal shoes for running for almost two years now... every once in a while I'll see a guy at a race or on the subway home and ask how he likes the vibrams...

its always an interesting/lenthy conversation. I'm not gay but I can see how that would work in picking up dudes.

"Nice shoes. Wanna fuck?"

I tried a pair... after being variously handicapped from injuries sustained during the month I used them, I gave up on them and am still not feeling entirely put back together.

how do you guys wash these?

i throw them in the washing machine every other week, but they still stink a little afterwards and my most recent laundry cycle made the seams at the big toe rip apart. they're mended, but i'd like to know how to wash them without having them fall apart

Try the dishwasher. Or put them inside a mesh bag before putting them in the washer.

Aren't dishwashers substantially hotter and harsher than clothes washers?

I toss mine in the wash periodically with a bunch of towels. So far they still look new, even after almost two years of frequent use.

Bumping this: Anybody who wear these things have wide feet? The Vibram site says they're suitable for extra wide widths but I'm skeptical.

I have fairly wide feet (Usually a 10E or 10EE) and I'm fine in them.

I do not know, because shit. I do what came naturally - mostly running on your toes. Feel good, you can go that far. Consider the line of demarcation between the skull and the hard drive when the logs. Strike, are equal. The shock through the body and stress of it all.

Just bought a pair of VFF Sprints. They look like they fit kind of weird in the heel, but apparently this is expected for this model based on the number of people who have reported the same issue but still love them. The three straps do make it feel very secure.

I ran a 5k in them this morning. My daughter ran with me, also in her VFFs (she's 13). We had lots of people comment/ask about them. They're a lot more common now than when I started wearing them, but they're still relatively rare.
