I searched and saw some stuff about nosebleeds here, but unlike most there, I've NEVER had a nosebleed before, and usually the dry nosebleeds come during the winter. Went to bed last night with a tissue up there, and woke up with what felt like a dry booger...well after blowing, realized it was not a booger, but a scab starting to form (I guess). Tried Aquafor, now have some triple antibiotic stuff up there...any other sage advice? This sucks.

I assume trying to ignore that feeling of dry snot is best and just letting it stay there?

Drink more water, could be due to dehydration in the summer.

I don't know if this will help, but I use a neti pot (google it) and saline nasal solution when I fly to keep my nose hydrated.

bty, don't you play hockey? never had a nosebleed? you must be really good at defending yourself.

Do you have air conditioning on? That sucks the water/humidity out of the room.

You went to the doctor because you got a nosebleed? Isn't that a little...excessive?

Gotcha. Didn't realize it was a 36 hour nosebleed. I would have done the same thing.

For quick nosebleeds, a friend recommended a squirt of sinus headache nosespray (Afrin, etc.). It works and starts clotting almost immediately, but I don't know about the long-term effects (though if you're getting them often enough to worry, I guess you should see a doctor anyway).
