100 Days of Summer - Page 2

I was watching a feature on that movie this morning... she IS definitely cuter than ever. And from what I've seen it looks good and probably very far off the cookie-cutter romance flicks.

Winter Passing was good. Sort of strange and bleak. Zooey is good in it, and I love her. And of course Ed Harris is a good actor. Also worth watching for a mostly uncomedic turn by Will Ferrell, which he pulls off surprisingly well. I've been looking forward to (500) Days of Summer, and I'd also like to see Gigantic when it comes out on DVD even though I've heard mixed things about it.

I saw it. It was funny, but not much more.

I didn't like it, I don't normally become overly annoyed by movie characters but in this regard she was a "cunt" and he a "desperate pussy". Not fun to watch like the Saw franchise.

I thought this was great, did a good job of being creative in a genre that's otherwise hard to not follow a by-the-numbers story. While a non-linear timeline isnt new, it worked well as an unseen supporting character. I liked that it never dumbed itself down, the scene where they showed "reality" and "expectation" would have been awful in most other movies that did this, but here it was subtle and played out in a way that we've probably all done ourselves at one point. Another thing it had going for it was how real it was. No scenes where the guy does some incredulous and impossible race against time to get to an airport or something and win back the girl. The most unreal scene (the dance number) was still perfect in its use of context to why it was in the movie. Was cool to see the bar that my friends and I go to so many times in the Day 28 scene, where they are doing karaoke. The way the director depicted LA overall was really nice, it made it almost seem like NYC, where people walk and go to parks, have rooftop parties. I can't ever remember a movie that portrayed LA that way.

Is it the same movie as (500) Days of Summer that is playing here? Or did you just walk out a fifth of the way through the movie?

Pretty good movie. Didn't blow me out of the water, but it was very well done and entertaining. Zooey Deschanel was the same as she always is - okay, but nothing special. I thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt was very good.

The Anal Girl part was hilarious.

Saw it.

Was good, better than I thought it was going to be.

I liked the direction the film went in

(SPOILERS)

He never got her back. I kind of was expecting that about halfway through the film, but I always figured since it's a romance film that they would still somehow pull it out of their ass in the last 5 seconds which would have been terribly lame.

(/END)

Maybe there's just a correlation between how much you liked the film and how much you can relate to the situation.
