Made in China...not!

Something has come over me and I can't really explain it. I have become either enlightened or obsessed by all things "Made in China." I think it happened about the time I bought that last Italian made suit or that last Italian made boxer short or that last Italian made sweater. I looked into my closet one day to review what I had accumulated over the years and thought were "decent" pieces and began seeing "Fabric woven in Italy, Made in China." I fell back unto the bed choking back the tears. "How could I be so stupid?" I started flinging items into a bag hoping no one from the SF police would walk in. As a result, I have only that last Suit, short, sweater. No more "Made in China" for me. Am I crazy?

We've been monitoring you for over two years now and you expect us to believe you just changed over night? Like you had some sort of revelation?! Well I'm not buying what you're selling. I suspect it was made in China!

not everything made in china is all that bad..

like the Great wall of china.

even that though is not all solid brick and mortar. maybe about 2% human body remains filler.

For this and probably countless other reasons, yes.

Made in China is often better made than made in Turkey or made in Romania (that even concerns the topic). Dumplings, made in Germany or France e.g. are even considerably worse than those I tried that were actually made in China. Even communism made in Germany had an earlier expiriy date than the competetive product made in China, but then again it was no quality good made in West Germany.

I wonder if "Made in China" will be like "Made in Japan" someday, and the bottom of the heap will be "Made in Angola" or "Made in Mongolia"...

I concede your point for the sake of argument; but really, do you want to press that issue to a point of supporting the contention that "Made in China" is okay for a well heeled, fashion stud like yourself? I kept a $69.00 Nordstrom polo sweater that was made in Italy. I threw out a 600.00 Burberry sweater (wool/cashmere, real horn toggle closures) that was Made in China. I am just not havin' it!
