How do you sell on Ebay?

Thread Starter 
I made my listing and I highly doubt anyone will bid/ even find it. I selected to place it on their website for 10 days and I paid 40 cents to list. It is a fairly popular item, which means interest but it also means there are a bunch of them on there. I am a new member so I dont have any access to the perks seasoned members get. So where do I stand here? I submitted it a few hours ago.

Perks aren't required. Choosing the correct key words, listing in the correct category or categories, and good pictures are required.

Depends on the item... mostly everything sells within a day or two for me, but I also have the benefit of selling on a power seller account with 10K+ feedback. I spend very little time creating "pretty" and super well written/detailed listings... I simply explain what it is, describe the condition very accurately and remind people how I ship fast. It's always worth considering sending items to someone else and having them sell on a consignment basis. I know a lot of us power sellers will do this and only charge $10-15 for most items.
