Chelsea boots will be the most versatile. You can get a wide variety of styles, as has been mentioned, slightly pointed toe and a cuban heel would probably fit in with what you want best. A pair of mono black hi top all stars would be fairly versatile too. Dir en Grey have toned their image down a lot since I last encountered them...

Aye, it's been a while since they were visual kei. They're going for the US market atm and look pretty average compared to a few years ago.

It works, for now at least. I'll post pics when I have time. The correct shoes are a major piece of my outfit/style which I'm missing right now. Hm, this thread resurfaced... OP here, I ended up buying a pair of RM Williams boots. But dropped the whole semi-Toshiya imitation. Now I'm back to not really knowing what I want. But the boots are still pretty sweet ^^
