I am in synch with you. I started wearing jeans only last two years. I was more into business and business casuals. I was not even aware of 45rpm till I read this thread.

Hey ..I bought all those jeans to motivate me to wear 'em by the price. Otherwise I wouldnt be wearing. You go with cut or selvege I go with price and brand and some go with other reasons. If what logical to me is moronic to you, be my guest.

No, it's completely tasteless and idiotic for the only distinction between two pair of jeans to be what number is on the detachable paper tag. Ditto for everything else in the world.

Its fairly normal for someone that isn't an enthusiast to assume that the higher its priced, the better it is. I'm sure we all do that with certain things.

Anyway, the guy is new here. He'll learn better.

Fair enough.

I think it's tasteless and idiotic to chastise people who buy jeans for reasons that you don't find acceptable.

BTW I am learning. I joined this forum only yesterday, by accident. I read a thread on hermes and I happened to own a pair. I even posted pics on "hermes jeans" thread.

Like I said before, when i don't know about something I use brand and rice as yard stick.

You clearly need some $900 Evisu hand-dipped to round out your collection.

I think it would be interesting to have a new list as what's in style in the Forum has seemed to change a lot. I haven't seen much about R&B lately and RRL is getting a lot more cred...

It's not a matter of what I find acceptable. The ability to distinguish between two things is necessary for one to be found better than the other. The cost of an item has nothing to do with its value and therefore which one is 'better'. Using cost as a distinguishing characteristic is inherently flawed; if I bought Hermés selvedge jeans on sale and you bought them at full retail, which one is better?

I've only seen one or two pairs of nicely faded/worn-in RRLs.. I think they're just becoming more popular because they're cheap.

The list was a little dated even when new. It was kind of a "list of cool brands which haven't reached douchebag status, oh and plus 3 japanese brands"

The list right now would be 8 out of 10 japanese repro
