longest you have ever gone without sleep? - Page 3

About 36 hours, both during college and at work. I didn't function well at all afterwards though.

50+ hours and counting for me...fiancee may be pregnant which isn't good at all considering she has 2 years left of med school. She goes to the doctor tomorrow. I agree with the guy above I'm very bloated at the moment

2 1/2 days on a paintball trip with some friends. I was stomping through the woods alone during one game and experienced what I know is micro sleep, where your mind sleeps, but your eyes are open and your body keeps doing the simple things it was in the midst of, walking in my case. I "woke up" after walking straight into a small sinkhole.

Another time I went 2 days at a LARP event, which was almost worse since you are not only sleep deprived, but physically exhausting yourself as well. I slept 24 hrs after that.

I have a strange condition where I only ever clench my teeth when I sleep on an airplane. I now go without sleep, or if I must, discreetly put in and take out a mouth guard in the lavatory.

After 48 hours aren't you considered clinically insane?

44 hours when we were launching the xbox campaign. no shower, almost no food, just coke and coca cola

i dont believe i have ever done 3 days straight before but i have gone 48 hours without sleep several times and it did start getting surreal near the end of it. i would be doing things and i would at the same time dream. it was weird. plus i felt like there was a brick in my head. it hurt. like a muscle ache.

itll be interesting how going 72 hours straight would feel like for me

Not much over 24 hrs. for me. A couple of summers ago my friends and I would stay up all night drinking and go out to breakfast at 7 or 8 AM. By the time I went to bed, I had probably been awake for 25-30 hours. I have zero desire to pull an all-nighter.

48 hours or so...decided to drive up the eastern seaboard at 3 a.m. one night.

maybe not contineously, but I've gone 5 days with total of less than 5 hours of sleep, that was back in college during finals, and with help of adderall. the drug kept my mind sharp, but the body eventually couldn't keep up, at the end of it, I felt like a free spirit trapped inside a zombie carcass, scary feeling.

four days at a music festival. I passed out/collapsed in a semi-planned fashion a couple of times but I don't think I really slept for more than an hour or so. Went home and showered then slept for a day straight, and felt like crap for the better part of a week. I had a lot of cuts I didn't remember getting and at some stage the bottom of my trousers caught fire because there were burns all over them and less hair on my legs than before.

It was a silly party that went on for days. I was fuelled by caffeine (amongst other substances), but I can barely remember the last 15 hours of it, and I was apparently making virtually no sense whenever I talked. I ended up falling to sleep/passing out mid conversation.

One Wednesday, I had a red eye flight to Indianapolis and I'm not quite sure how many hours it was but I woke up around 6:30 like I do each morning, stayed awake all day/night long until we arrived at Indianapolis in the morning and stayed awake that day whole day too. I had some black tea so I didn't get much sleep that night. Technically, I got about 20 minutes of sleep on the flight from San Diego to Los Angeles (It was the smoothest flight I have ever been on despite the fact that it was on one of those itty bitty shaky planes). My sleep schedule for the next four days were so messed up, I'd sleep randomly during the middle of the day for 10 minutes at a time.

Oh man, 50 some hours. Woke up super early New Years Eve Day during an already sleep deprived week and did the whole party thing, then went to the Rose bowl party at a neighbors with some people who were far more into the game than I was. Got a second wind and stayed up the next night to prove I could.
