Woke up Friday morning feeling real dizzy. At first I thought it would go away, until I realized hours later that I was not getting any better. I decided to go to the emergency room and was told it was an ear inflammation. I was prescribed Meclizin which doesn't help much... Now, almost 3 days later, I have no idea how I'm getting to class. Probably will be dropped off/ picked up... Any body ever experience something like this?

I had some sort of inner-ear-virus a couple of years back, no pain just severe loss of equilibrium. It took 7-10 days to re-gain full balance, it gradual goes away, nothing overnight. Scary stuff....

Yeah, this can happen post-cold but not necessarily. It's called vestibular neuritis, caused by a virus, and like eckblk said, usually goes away after a week or two. If it continues after that, go back to the hospital to have it re-evaluated.

I haven't had a cold, so it's def not a cold symptom... The doctor at the ER said it was that I injured my inner ear with a Q-Tip, but I haven't had any pain.... Man, I hope this goes away soon, I gotta drive!

The day before the dizziness started or actually the night before I had this crazy, crazy fever and headache, I was sweating cold and seeing shit! Awesome!! Seriously though, OP, I hope you get better soon. It made me appreciate being able to do all the normal day to day activities we do usually.

I'd put off driving if possible.

If you don't get better, get evaluated by an otolaryngologist.

No way. I've had two CT Scans this year including one a few days ago... Everything seems fine, just typical ear inflammation... I'm still dizzy today so I'm thinking of going to the doctor tomorrow.
