summer of our discontent

maybe it's the economy, maybe it's general malaise, but there is seemingly little joie de vive floating around this summer. i have yet to do much this summer that would qualify as fun, but it's not just me-all our friends seem to be in a funk as well. i suppose the general state of things coupled with no one wanting to spend is a big part of it. really need a vacation, but not until end of august unfortunately.

It hasn't even seemed like summer to me. We've only had a few really hot days so far. It's been in the low 70s mostly. Also, I took a summer class, which fucks everything up. Meh.

Even as I am enjoying my culture/sex romp through Asia this summer, I know that it is only a temporary bandaid over the underlying malaise waiting back home. I am dreading my return to NY. It makes me shudder. So I feel you brotha.

I'm taking a course right now which is actually sort of enjoyable. But generally it has been a pretty uneventful summer, particularly compared to last summer, which I retrospectively dub "The Summer of Debauchery"

Totally agree. I've had the past 10 days off of work and have done very little that I've found fun. I guess the more were told by the media how much our lives fucking suck, and how bad our economy is, it starts to take its toll on us.

I was actually going to go to the beach Friday but it was too fucking cold so I went hiking instead...
