Where to Buy Clothes in Stockholm, Sweden?

Anyone here in Stockholm, Sweden?

Where can I buy clothes/shoes there? Can you give me a nice list of stores there please with short descriptions of what can be found in which store?

To give you something to base on, I'm mostly looking for three types of clothes:

1) Casual wear. Casual pants, khakis. Shirts. Casual shirts. Polos. T-shirts. Socks, underwear, belts. Perhaps in general similar stuff to what GAP and Eddie Bauer and Brooks Brothers etc. offer at their stores. What are the Stockholm "counterparts" of those stores?

2) Outerwear. Just some regular winter coats, headwear, scarfs, for the winter

Not necessarily dress-looking. Just the standard that everyone wears daily.

3) Shoes. Are there any, say, Ecco stores there? Any other nice ideas?

Well, I'd suggest visiting NK (www.nk.se) and some other malls. Perhaps PUB (www.pub.se). I don't know Stockholm well at all. Someone living there could give you much better advice.

Sure, you can find Ecco anywhere in Sweden. There are 6 Ecco-stores in Stockholm and a lot more not called Ecco-store but selling Ecco. Have a look at www.ecco.com to find all addresses..

I second that - NK and PUB are good places to start. If you're on a tighter budget, the clothing chain MQ offers good casual wear at an affordable price. I believe StrÃ¶ms at the corner of SveavÃ¤gen and Kungsgatan may be worth a visit too.

Sure, you can find Ecco anywhere in Sweden. There are 6 Ecco-stores in Stockholm and a lot more not called Ecco-store but selling Ecco. Have a look at www.ecco.com to find all addresses..

Plenty of Ecco stores if you like that kind of footwear. But really, Sweden is a third world country when it comes to shoes. Order online instead.

For cheap casual clothing try H&M, rather similar to GAP.
If you want more traditional clothing you can visit GÃ¶trich, Lund&Lund and Hans Allde who carries a variety of Corneliani, Belvest, Zegna, Borrelli et al. Rose & Born might be worth checking out as well. Towards the fashion side of things there's ABCD (Dior Homme, D&G etc.), Natalie Schuterman (YSL, Lanvin, Prada etc.) and Nitty Gritty (Acne, Whyred, WWM, Fred Perry, Stone Island etc.) to name a few.
All the above carries shoes as well, although the supply is quite limited.

Also check out weekday at drottninggatan 63 where you can find some good casual wear.

Only read the first line with casual pants and shirts and thats something you can find there but i guess NK and some stores around bibliteksgatan/norrlandsgatan will be more in his taste then.

Okay fellas. I went to some of the stores you mentioned in Drottninggatan the other day. My need for shoes should be coverered since, as you said and you are right about, there are Ecco stores all around.

However, I was unable to find any khakis. Practically noone had much variety of khakis. One of them had Dockers but not the color I was looking for. Where precisely would you go to to find some nice variety of Dockers-like khakis? My size is 31x30 or thereabouts.

Khakis are usually a summer collection item in Swedish stores, so it may be difficult to find now that they replaced it with the autumn collection. Have you had a look around department stores NK (Hamngatan) and Ã…hlens (Drottninggatan)? They are likely to carry some still.

Its a big(by swedish standards) department store with mens clothing on floor 3. If you go to t-centralen you cant miss it. But go to NK first.

ns and found the men's section. They had some Dockers there. Also NK had Dockers in a store called NK Casual. Nice.

I know I'm a bit late to reply on this thread, but if you are in Stockholm again anytime soon, try visiting Rose & Born on Grevgatan 2. They offer RTW suits, jackets, shoes, trousers and accessories in a very homely store a few blocks from Stureplan. As they only have RTW it's not for the picky, but they do have a really nice range of trousers. I go there mainly for their trousers and friendly and relaxed service. It's very much a place where Stockholm rakes who fit in RTW go. Wait a minute that might have sounded a bit contradictory; a rake in RTW? But Sweden is the home of IKEA, H&M, Cheap Monday, etc ; so maybe it's not so surprising after all...
