fyi... My latest advice from Jack (I asked him about wearing a tie without a jacket): "One of my uniforms is a plain white Oxford shirt, dark-wash, slim cut jeans, a narrow black knit tie, and a pair of wingtips (no socks). This is a casual look, though, so if your office is jacket-required, throw a tweed blazer over top."

For some reason I always feel the need to roll my sleeves up when I'm wearing a tie with jeans and no jacket. I haven't jumped on the sockless bandwagon yet...I remember one summer when I was about 13 I gave up socks for the summer and my sneakers absolutely reeked.

Does J.Crew really have specific seasonal collections?
They have new clothing every month. Sometimes 2-3 times a month.

Edit- I am not complaining though.

Releasing new stuff every month allows Robert to keep them in business.

It also spreads out purchases making it seem like you aren't spending as much, because its just a few things with each round of new items you buy. Its a pretty good strategy.

I'm waiting for spring/summer stuff to drop now. I'm on workshirt/flannel overload. Went in today and only picked up a pair of socks for 2.99

Nice. The jacket seems backordered to 02/10 now though unfortunately.

Agree about the sockless shoes. Seems a little too like stuff I see on The Sartorialist. & I haven't done a tie with jeans yet, only khakis/chinos.

Actually I haven't picked up anything in more than a month! Have found a few cool things in the vintage store, though.

Ya. I like it so much, I ordered another in charcoal. Unfortunately, the pants are in back order until 02/02/2010....

But the jacket is on the way...lol

Now I have my proper suits, in the proper colors, that every man should have. (so they say). Was hoping to wear the charcoal version to a New Year's celebration, though. I guess the navy one will plenty of use between my grad school graduation, company dinner party, Christmas and New Years.

Woah. SNOWMAN gets you 25% off discount applies to purchases of $150 or more; 30% off discount applies to purchases of $250 or more before shipping, handling and taxes are added.

EDIT: Same thing as last time. Works on Designer Gallery stuff, but you have to search for it.
