I've been sick and therefore d/l, on demanding, and watching an excessive amount of movies the past four or five days. I've probably watched 45 movies since Wednesday afternoon.

I'll just rattle off a few of the more recent ones with a + or - depending on whether I thought they were any good or not.

Watched The Presitge last weekend - Very interesting movie with many potential subtexts. I figured out a major plot twist about an hour early and it still didn't spoil the movie for me.

Hope to see Black Snake Moan and Zodiac this weekend - and 300 and The Host next weekend.

has anyone else heard of this one? it's a documentary about this guy that died from having sex with a horse. an investigation led to the discovery that there was a ranch in washington state where businessmen from all over the world were paying to get screwed by horses--stallions no less!.

Yeah, that was big news up here for quite a while. Good ole Enumclaw. Remarkably enough, up until just after this *ahem* "tragic accident", having sexual intercourse with an animal was not illegal here. As long as the animal in question was not being "physically abused". Go figure.

btw, saw the Illusionist the other week...great film, I liked it much more than I thought I would. What's funny is I saw Illusionist, Running Scared, and Lucky Number Slevin all in a row and ironically, all 3 movies have the same basic ending. it was an odd deja voodoo

I suspect "Moan" will suck -- they're trying too damned hard to be controversial, what with those TV commercials with the shots of Ricci's crotch. I see the 'woman on a chain leash' poster has been modified -- someone must have gotten their knickers in a twist; reminds me of the controversy over Spinal Tap's 'Smell The Glove' album cover! Funniest. Movie. Ever.

Speaking of Spinal Tap, I am keen on seeing Christopher Guest's latest, For Your Consideration. Others on the short list include "Alatriste", "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Scoop".
