I'm spending 4 weeks in europe (spain, portugal, italy, norway, denmark)...leaving tonight Here's what I have in my backpack 3 solid T's khaki 501xx STF shorts 1 button up shirt that is ok wrinkled. 3-4 pairs boxers 3-4 pairs socks plastic poncho track jacket (cotton/poly--light, wrinklefree, quick dry) soap/toothbrush/etc flip flops for hostel shower chamois/travel towel old swimsuit (will probably ditch in lisbon) shoes sunglasses Open to buying pants and a button down while traveling if I see something I like (maybe another pair of shoes too). Along with that I will have camera+extra SD cards netbook earplugs headphones needle/thread/tape tiny LED light some books power adaptor Thinking about skipping the ipod (though it would charge easy from the netbook) Phone for alarm clock and potential emergency call (skype for any other calls) What am I missing?

This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

I've been to southern Norway this time of year several times. It can be warm or it can get a rather cold especially if it rains. I found I was fine with a few layers and had a fleece pullover over a t shirt and then a lightweight rain jacket (anorak style). I wore both of them a lot and found the pockets in the anorak to be quite handy.
You might also consider a very small tripod for your camera. You will get much better photos and you will be in them!
I always take a very small day pack for walking around.

No jeans? And +1 on something warmer, maybe a fleece or a sweater.
Well, the 501s are jeans...just in khaki color

Yeah, I've got a mini tripod ready to go (having a pro photographer as a father instills a few things in you...) I have a crappy day pack ready to go but I was hoping to pick up a nice leather bag from the leather markets in florence to replace it halfway through my trip.
I'll think about some warmer stuff...I could swap the track jacket for a slightly bigger/heavier but waterproof jacket or add a sweater.
