Na, i vote for smith fresco, better performance. Also have a look on the heavy minnis fresco if you need conservative colours

They're all entirely suitable to the purpose though Crispaire might be a little too smooth for patch pockets (but that's really just my taste).

They should have all the swatches with them so just pick the one that looks / feels best to you. They're all good cloths so you can't really go wrong.

ok, just unsure how i can find out the weights. i dont have access to swatches, although i have emailed the respective companies askign for samples. luckily, there is a smiths and co location in london so i may drop by and check out the fabrics in person, but for h&s i will need samples

thanks for your help

For a mid to heavy weight, the Smiths 11 or so oz can't be beat imo. The threads are four ply and very dense and durable, while the weave is pretty open. It's significantly heavier than the Minnis 9-10 oz and the lighter Crispaire. Crispaire is probably best for a suit, but for a blazer suit, I'd go w/ Minnis or Smiths -- Minnis for lighter weights, Smiths for heavier. My navy blazer suit is made from the Smiths 11 oz stuff. If you could get two, or plan ahead, I'd get the Smiths in a darker navy and the Minnis in the lighter weight and color, namely 0520.

perfect smile.gif....!
i think i'll go with smiths as i prefer the heavier weights for my current wardrobe needs, and unfortunately i cant buy two at the moment..

i'll see about going heavier than 11oz in the smiths in the darker navy..

thank you very much.

Hi gents
Am going to go with smiths 2550 11oz (they no longer carry heavier flannels).

Am thinking to go for blazer suit- would you guys recommend 3 patch or 2 patch pockets?
Any other specs I should go for?
Thank you

hello gents, so posting a few pics of recent chan acquisitions. may post for an opinion on fit pics early next week. i am pretty pleased with the commissions so far, and requested a relatively comfortable fit

close up

odd jacket with 2 patch, 3 button in h&s

flannel suit 17oz and trousers in minnis

curious if any members have tried to get something super casual/soft made up, perhaps somethign close to an engineered garments type blazer to wear with jeans...

for my next commissions want to get a blue blazer, more odd trousers, and maybe a fresco suit in grey. may need your guys help come close to selection time!
thanks
