Facebook suggested friends (SoCal2NYC)

I just logged onto facebook and my suggested friend was SoCal I'm 99% sure. I can only see a small picture of him but if his initials are JV it was SoCal. I find that extremely weird as none of our schools/networks come close to matching.

A while ago Facebook suggested I friend Mauro, so I did.

He and I have no mutual friends, and I don't talk clothing on Facebook, so it was an odd day.

I've never had FB suggest anyone who wasn't a friend of a friend or otherwise in an alumni network.

That exact same thing happened to me, and it seems that now most of my suggested friends are people that I have no mutual friends with?

Who are all those people on the SF FB group? I don't recognize many regulars - just a whole heap of creepy looking uni students.

fb goes through the members' browser history and caches to determine those who have common interests and spend time on the same websites.

total BS. My browser history is skewed to pictures of large breasted women usually dousing themselves in spring water, and there has been NO correlation with suggested friends.
