Gift for the wife - Looking for a travel jewelry case

My wife's birthday is coming up, and she has requested a travel case for her jewelry. It's not the most romantic gift, but she never asks for gifts so specifically. If she's asking for it outright she really wants it. She has a nice jewelry box at the house, but we travel fairly often, so she wants something she can bring in her luggage.

The parameters:

- It has to be fairly roomy but not enormous. Basically, it needs to be an efficient use of space, with enough for, say, six pairs of earrings, a few rings, and half a dozen necklaces.

- I would prefer leather, but I'd consider nearly anything. The important thing is that is looks nice. I've found a lot of junk for cheap; I'd rather spend a bit and get something nice.

- My ceiling is about $200, but I'll consider just about anything up to that price. I'm not going to say no to something that's inexpensive just so I can feel like I've spent more.

I think that's it. Any input is appreciated. I've gotten really good at buying her things to fill a jewelry case, but I'm pretty well clueless about buying the actual case.

Why not ask your jeweler for a suggestion?

I will when I have the chance. I just happened to think of it while I was messing around online, so I thought I'd ask here while it was on my mind.

Check out Classicluggage.com. They have a fine jewelry travel case from no less than Swaine Adeney for $235.

Thanks gdl and cbird, all very helpful. I was thinking a small box, but I like the roll idea.

Does anyone have any experience with Ettinger? I've found a roll there I like quite a bit, but I'd like some input on their stuff. A search here yields a few hits on their name, but no one really gives any input on the brand.

I would go for the roll. My wife has one and likes it a lot, as it keeps everything secure and necklaces/bracelets don't get tangled. They also take up less space (so she can pack one more pair of shoes).
