epic armageddon slo-mos + family trying to cope with tragedy + crazy 2nd character (in this case whoever that guy flying the plane is) + world will unite in the end and rebuild... yup got it all covered.

I'm really hyped up about this movie...the disaster scenes look EEEEPIIIIC.

Here's a five minute clip of the destruction of Los Angeles....totally illogical (see: driving limo through collapsing office building), but TOTALLY awesome.

Kinda cool to see the buildings I work in downtown go down in a blaze of glory. Day off!! Woo hoo!

serious question: why is Amercan film so obsessed with fictionalizing America's destruction?

I don't care that they do it, but I am interested in how it came to be as a blockbuster genre.
