E. Zegna Couture XXX Sport Coat - Size 42R - SOLD

SOLD Hello gentlemen, This coat is hard to put into words, really, but I'll try. There is handwork everywhere - everywhere. Sleeve attachments, all buttonholes, the boat-shaped chest pocket, the hand attached collar, the lining, pick stitching on the inside around the interior pockets, etc. etc. etc. It is a sort of nailhead brown/hint of olive with a light blue windowpane. The size is 52R/42R. It is a 3 roll 2/2.5. It is double vented. It is 99% wool and 1% cashmere, but it feels like the other way around. The shoulders are perfect Neapolitan ones - extremely soft construction and very natural. There is next to no padding at all. The coat is fully lined in 100% Bemberg. The sleeve buttons are not working, so it is easy to alter the length of the sleeves to your desire. The lapels are modern in shape and width. I usually don't describe the things I sell with such gusto, but this is a special coat and I will certainly keep it and wear it in a few months when I fit into it if it does not sell. It is lightly used, and there are no holes, rips, stains, pulls or other anomalies anywhere. I would recommend a light steaming to get the few wrinkles that it has out. Coats like these don't come up often - and for good reason. They are something like $3000-$3500 new (yikes). I am offering it for sale for $375 shipped - roughly 85-90% off of retail for a barely worn jacket. Please make an offer via PM if you are dissatisfied with the asking price. Measurements: Chest: 22" Sleeve: 24" Length (from bottom of collar): 31" Shoulders: 19.25" Pictures:

Splendid! Zegna is so under-appreciated on this site. It's a pity this isn't a 38/40.

Are the cuff buttons functional? And if not how much material approx are at the sleeve ends?

He said they're nonfunctioning button holes

Very nice sportcoat. I love the colour.

thats a great looking jacket. How would you describe the fit and armholes? The one zegna suit I have is a 42R but its pretty full fitting.

whoops thanks I didn't read throughly enough on the buttonholes.

Beautiful jacket. Wish you had a 50R/40R. Whoever buys it will be a happy person.

Thank you, all. It really is a wonderful coat. To answer some questions... 1) The sleeves buttons are non-functioning. 2) The fit is neither too full nor too slim. I would say it's a perfect balance between the two. The shoulders - the important part - are just superfluous. They are the perfect natural shoulder.

Lots of interest, but no takers. I'll drop the price to $375 shipped to perhaps put some of those folks over the edge.

a couple questions: - the color looks more on the greyish side, although I can clearly see that the buttons are brownish. to help me envision the color better, what color pants/shoes would this go with? - RE the tag, I didn't see either Milano or Roma listed. I have a 54R in the Roma fit, how does this compare? When I measure that jacket at the shoulders seam to seam it's 19". - how is it for summer wear? - can you post a pic of the entire front so I can get a better idea?

I also would like to know how much material can be let out from the sleeve?

Color: there is a hint of grey, but it is mostly brownish-olivish. I would pair it with greys, browns, tans and even blues.

Fit: I can't comment as I don't know how the Milano or Roma versions fit. The shoulders are only .25" off so this jacket would likely work given that other measurements are similar.
Summer wear: it is wool and cashmere and fully lined, so perhaps it is best for cooler Summer evenings than hot afternoons in the sun.

I'll take a shot of the whole front either tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for the interest.
