Mayweather vs Pac - Page 14

sort of off topic.

i don't feel like researching, but how real is this court case with mayweather? i assume it'd have to hamper negotiations with manny, if there are any, a little bit.

They're able to continuously push back their court dates for whatever reason. I don't know why, law has never been an interest to me.

it could be serious,he already has a conviction for slapping another chick around...and even if he gets off his uncle is certain to do time,BUT his father could step in and train so could be a non factor.

Oscar ended up having things go his way by using the legal system. Oscar doesn't even have to do anything to get a default % of whatever emmanuel makes. If they fought someone working for Oscar like Marquez, Oscar's default % increases even more, since Oscar would have to promote emmanuel in those cases. Bigger risk, lower financial incentive. My friend who just finished reading emmanuel's new book told me he tries to take a very business minded approach to boxing, totally different from what he's advertised as to the public. Fighters who have a desperate need to be loved by fans would want to hide how business conscious they are. Fans like it when boxers play stupid and pretend boxing isn't about making green. emmanuel's very own promoter just said emmanuel is the one who decides who he fights. Tough fight to make.

You want results from drug tests in Nevada? Wait a week or so until after the fight and I make a phone call and it's done in 30 seconds.

Texas claims the results are confidential. So if both guys are clean, dirty or a combination they won't say. Is Texas communist?

The commission still won't release results from either fighter. I received an email today saying so from the state attorney general (more)

For nearly a month I have had an open records request in to the Texas commission for drug test results from Pacquiao-Margarito. (more)

Not sure. I do know that Texas isn't strict at all when it comes to drug testing. emmanuel started to have his fights in Texas ever since he belligerently refused to take blood tests.

What's odd is that they make less money from the live attendance in Texas compared to Vegas MGM, but they still hold their fights there anyways.

Texas just isn't a good place for boxing. They're known for robbing the "boxer" and giving the victory over to the brawler, Whitaker-Chavez and Malignaggi-Diaz as examples. It was the only state in America willing to give margacheato a license after his whole hand wrapping incident.

Alright, everyone is all green. No one popped on the drug tests. My prediction for tonight is that Amir KTFO Maidana.
