I'm a horrible baker. I can make a few things that come out well, BUT, the vast majority turn out horrible. Bread is incredibly difficult for me. I've never gotten a decent loaf.

The sad thing is, I rocked in the laboratory. You'd think that baking would come naturally.

Isn't it weird how you used to rarely see women as head chefs in well known restaurants, but at the same time expected the cook of the house be a woman?

I come from a big Italian family, and neither my sister nor my female cousins can cook at all (they are all in their early to mid 20's). They associate domesticity with my grandmother, and being old fashioned. I think it's embarrassing really, I cook a lot and it's come to the point where I am the only one of our generation in the family who bothers to learn culinary techniques from my grandma, who is a wealth of info
