Oh! Look at the kitty! BTW, you know the reason the black death spread through Europe was because people kept on killing cats because they thought they were evil, thus the rodents the cats would usually kill multiplied and spread disease in an unprecedented scale. Jon.

Went on a ghost tour of a pretty colonial town. Among other sightings, there was a story of a "ghost cat" that darted around a former Civil War hospital. So one cat didn't go to heaven.

That’s what Torquemada said, and even if I think he’s wrong, Let's face it - you can't Torquemada anything!

(yes I know, so very lame…)

OK, Jon.

Tell me this wasn't a gratuitous post designed to drive up your count...

No. I wasn't even thinking about post count. Did you not see my post regarding how the whole thread count fiasco was quite humorous, because I spent all the time at work, "˜working' to get my post count up, only to lose it in the great crash of 06'?

I guess not being to Torquemada out of anything applies to more than just the grand inquisitor.

Jon.

Sometimes the devil comes in blue dresses made from dyed kitten pelts, although in those instances he's usually pretty easy to recognize.

And for good measure:

"Of my own thoughts it is folly to speak. Swooning, I staggered to the opposite wall. For one instant the party upon the stairs remained motionless, through extremity of terror and of awe. In the next, a dozen stout arms were tolling at the wall. It fell bodily. The corpse, already greatly decayed and clotted with gore, stood erect before the eyes of the spectators. Upon its head, with red extended mouth and solitary eye of fire, sat the hideous beast whose craft had seduced me into murder, and whose informing voice had consigned me to the hangman. I had walled the monster up within the tomb!'

The Black Cat, Edgar Allan Poe, 1843.
