Your grandmother was a very wise woman. They are the Devil's servants. Any medieval inquisitor would tell you that. Although I suspect the black ones are the most evil. And the Siamese ones.

My husband (then boyfriend) probably thought cats were indeed evil after my oldest one did his claws on his golden brown suede Pliners (he didn't know about Styleforum then).
