I kinda get Catholics but I sometimes really don't get them. Like I understand that a dead man coming alive or water turning to wine is pretty much physically impossible but trans substantiation seems to be in that next level of going beyond impossible into the realm of illogical. A dead man coming alive seems possible if you believe in a magical god but claiming wafer and terrible wine somehow actually turning into flesh and blood at the sound of a bell every week despite admitting they're indistinguishable molecularly from other wafers and wine seems like 1984 doublespeak. Like at some point there were a bunch of higher up priests that read too much Plato and then came up with their own explanation about what they thought was science for a phrasing of words they had misunderstood.

Also most Catholics skip the wine which seems odd to me. He didn't say remember me but you can skip the wine if you think it tastes bad and dislike cooties.

Protestant hate for alcohol I kind of understand but don't really get. Once one church served real wine (alongside grape juice) and actual unleavened bread and I was like finally a church that uses everything in the first ritual. Turns out it was non alcoholic wine which is pretty much bad vinegar. I didn't understand why they bothered

Just the POV of a bullshit heathen but I always get a chuckle when one person that believes in a sky wizard criticizes the sky wizard story of another person.

Cheap rink time. It's why Tim Horton's is so popular.

Where I grew up hockey was like billiards if you keep winning, you control the rink. The challenger puts its quarters down on the railing to indicate the commencement of challenge.

Not all of us had the chance to grow up in an imaginary land, L'inc. You got some real privilege going on there.

You could have grown up in imaginary land if you had really wanted to!

that should've been religious bullshit that heathens might not want to read

i did mention the sky wizard bit. if there is a sky wizard he could probably make physically impossible things happen but i don't see how he can make illogical things happen

He's the sky wizard, brah. What's logical and illogical is for him to decide, not you.
except that i think even a sky wizard would have to be bound by logic
post #9985 of 15042
In the beginning was logos, and logos was with god, and logos was god.
i don't see how that's illogical. he's just saying logos is another side of god

Yeah I don't know which side of the argument that falls on, I just like that passage.

i dont understand the point you are trying to make. my belief is that a sky wizard would still be bound by logic (and thus provide a basis for criticizing a version of the sky wizard that doesn't follow logic as outlined in my original post) and that statement i made (that logos is the sky wizard) still affirms that belief

My point is I think all of you are talking out of your ass and I get a laugh when you figure your story is more valid than the next guy's. I'm a big believer in whatever it takes to get you through the night, and I'm not criticizing the fact anyone has belief, I'm observing that many of you guys with belief seem to feel your likely story is the best one.
